We see very often the incorrect user of sales page URLs and the incorrect assumption the "system is down". Our system statistics tell us our sales page has been down 8 minutes in the last 2 years.
Let's look at what could happen and what to do if you "think" the sales page is down.
ISSUE 1: CORRECT URL
The sales page will only work on either the
SHORT URL .....Long URL shorted at rebrandly.com
the LONG URL. (URL with the native token inside it)
These must be exactly as copied from the application. They cannot be shared once added to a browser.. Here is why.;
In the video below I copy a URL to a browser. (I've tried to slow the speed.)
After the copy, the URL is left with "?" . The Security token is hidden by the browser so the secure token remains secure.
You cannot COPY a URL from a browser and share it. Ever.
ISSUE 2 BLOCKING OF URLS
We the advent and prevalence of phishing - it's possible the LINK is blocked by the user's security systems. In this case, we strongly suggest using
your own domain for URLs. You can also build a brand around a static sub-domain.
Subdomains are easy and fast to add and need to be done on your side and shared with us.
Bring users to your own website where the Sales URL is embedded. Your website is likely to be seen as secure by the internet already.
If you do believe our sales page is down. please share facts as soon as you believe this to be the case.
Test your URL independently
and ask the user how they received the URL
if the above remains true share the user contact details and the communication content provided with us and we will dig deeper with that as source material.
remember we can only work with facts and data. we cant work with "jimmy said it wasn't working".
Much like login issues, there will always be a logical answer.
QA Processes
Finally, for any business-critical processes, it's best practice to run. a QA or "smoke screen" test. Create a small CRM group of first-up receivers of any communications you use (EDM or SMS for example). Include our team if you like and make sure the communications work as expected before you release to market.
